I am a 69-year-old husband, father, and grandfather. My wife, Jan, and I live in The Dalles, Oregon, USA, with our Yorkie-poo, Princess. My life endeavors have included extended periods as a photographer, Christian minister, educator, horticulturist, landscape designer, author, and multi-disciplinary artist.
Although I loved drawing as a child, I began my adult artistic journey with photography in my late teens and early twenties. The years after that saw me develop as a community educator, horticulturist, landscape designer, author, and multi-disciplinary artist sharing original art.
I am a multi-disciplinary artist exploring elements in nature as visual signs of God’s creative Spirit. My representational painting style utilizes color, pattern, movement, and texture to evoke emotion, inviting others to participate in the story.
I use acrylics, watercolor, gouache, and soft and oil pastels on projects, sometimes combining two or more mediums in a multi-media piece. I paint on both canvas and various papers. I see printmaking on my horizon for 2024.
My original art is influenced by the complexity and beauty of the ever-shifting natural elements that surround me.
